FAQ

1Can an air diaphragm pump handle solids?
Yes, air diaphragm pumps are designed to handle liquids with suspended solids or abrasives, such as slurry, sludge, and chemical mixtures. The pump's construction, including the diaphragm and check valves, is typically built to withstand the wear and tear caused by solid particles.
2How do you maintain an air diaphragm pump?
Regular maintenance includes: Inspecting the diaphragm: Check for cracks or wear and replace the diaphragm when necessary. Cleaning the valves and air chambers: Keep the valves free from debris and ensure the air chambers are clean to maintain proper airflow. Lubricating moving parts: Lubricate the pump's moving parts, especially the air valve and diaphragm, to reduce wear. Checking for leaks: Inspect all seals and O-rings for leaks and replace them as needed. Air filter maintenance: Clean or replace air filters to ensure the pump operates efficiently.
3Are air diaphragm pumps suitable for hazardous environments?
Yes, air diaphragm pumps are ideal for hazardous environments, especially when electrical spark risks need to be minimized. Since these pumps are powered by compressed air, there is no risk of electrical sparks, making them suitable for applications in explosive atmospheres such as chemical processing plants, mining, and refineries.
